What We Do
It’s our goal is to connect veterans in the Inland Empire Counties in Southern California…specifically the High Desert Area. Whether you are job searching or struggling with PTSD, it’s important to find people you can talk to, someone you can identify with.
IF YOU NEED HELP OR YOU WANT TO HELP:
The High Desert Veteran’s Coalition (HD Vetco) is open to all veterans who have served in the military. When you get deployed, it changes you. Making the change from active duty to veteran status can be pretty overwhelming.
Family and friends may have a difficult time understanding that the same person they once knew, is not that same person any more. That makes it even more challenging for them to be supportive.
HD Vetco brings together the community, volunteers and veteran’s to share information, knowledge, support and resources and to become a unified voice in advocating for veterans and their families in our community.
We offer training, workshops, classes and course to help veterans build the skills they need to compete in the job market or to start their own business. We provide workshops on navigating the VA claims process and partner with local businesses who provide internships and/or on-the-job training.
We focus on electronics repair with courses in computer hardware repair and automation. Completion of these modules qualify graduates for entry level postions.
This set of classes offers a step by step plan of action for budding entrepreneurs who are interested in developing a new idea into a new business.

VA Claim Assistance
However well-meaning, the claims process at the VA is challenging. For many veterans and their families, the process is so frustrating that they give up.
Internships | On the Job Training
We are proud to partner with local and national companies who support skill development for veterans by offering internships or on the job training.
This is our newest offering. The Business Incubator gives startups access to the business expertise from professionals in marketing, sales, IT and finance.
A veteran is someone who at one point in their life wrote a “Blank Check” for an amount up to and including their life. Honor. Sacrifice. Country first!”
Why did you start HD Vet Co?
I’m a Marine. We don’t leave our people behind. The issues veterans are facing is our new battlefield.
What's the criteria for receiving help?
We consider a veteran to be anyone who has served or is serving in the military or the reserves.
So that’s the only criteria. This is a coalition not only for our veterans, but for our community. We want to connect as many people as possible.
Who's falling through the cracks?
The most obvious are homeless veterans. But suicide is a huge issue too – the inability to access mental health services is huge.
But there’s also too many service members living in poverty or substandard housing.
What about their families?
There’s no question that families need support, particularly when service members have been deployed in combat.
We prioritize help for surviving spouses who can feel isolated and alone after their loss.
How do you do all this?
I don’t – WE do. The whole idea of HD Vet Co is to bring the community together to make sure our vets are cared for the way we promised they would be.
The vision is a collective of different service providers, business owners, veterans, clergy and volunteers as advocates.
Veteran Health Fair
We’re working with our CAP members to get the details finalized.
This is a fundraiser to celebrate our volunteers, veterans and partners.
The Field Day
Greg, I think it would be very helpful to create some kind public class schedule with locations,
trainers, number of seats, etc. if you have that info,
