Founder's Corner

The High Desert Veteran’s Coalition (HD Vetco) brings together the community, volunteers and veteran’s to share information, knowledge, support and resources and to become a unified voice in advocating for veterans and their families in our community.

Why HD VetCo?

Are you a veteran in need?
You’re not alone.

Gregory Lincoln is a successful business owner with a large extended family. So what prompted him to add HD VetCo to his already full plate?

He’s also a Marine – a former MP to be exact.For anyone who’s served, it’s enough said.

Mr. Lincoln was motivated by his own service, but it was the number of fellow veterans he saw struggling that really got things going. Too many families living just above the poverty line.  Surviving spouses disconnected and alone.

We want to assist veterans with the resources and benefits they have earned through their service to our county.

HD VetCo’s vision is to create a community consisting of Veteran’s volunteers, private and industrial sectors and people united in the care of veterans and their families.

We want to honor the service men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Through events, outreach, connection to VSO’s, job training and mental and physical health screening we hope to assist veterans and their families to thrive.

It Always Comes Back to Character

Our Values

  • We will value the opinions and contributions of all members with no single member’s voice or effort carrying more weight than others.
  • While there is an administrative leader of the Coalition, that leader is held accountable by every member.
  • It is our privilege and duty to serve our veterans as they have served us.
  • We believe a unified voice will enable us to create change.
  • We will value each other and treat each other with dignity and respect at all times, and remember the Coalition exists to serve veterans and each other.
  • We believe that collaboration will result in each member‘s organizations growing stronger.

“When you get deployed, it changes you. Making the change from active duty to veteran status can be challenging. Family and friends may have a difficult time understanding that the same person they once knew, is not that same person any more.”

HD VETCO is entirely run by volunteers.  We focus our efforts in three areas:

Veteran Affairs

Dealing with the V.A. can be overwelming. For veterans with physical or mental health problems – it’s source of ongoing frustration.  For lower income families or a surviving spouse, it’s even harder.

Community Outreach

We work with community organizations to deliver the services that low income families need. We help to feed homeless veterans, work with 3H and run a Community Ambassador Program.

Skill Development

We help to provide workskills that offer our veterans the dignity and security of a good paying job. Our Y-Knot Success Center is the location for skill development and entrepreneurship training.

The ones who made it home need our help
